Agung Warehouse’ Smart Racking System Doubles Utility, Fastens Racking Time

Agung Warehouse, a warehouse of PT Agung Raya in Tanjung Priok Port Jakarta, has just (January 19) launched smart racking system, making its utility double and fastening racking time from 55 to only 25 minutes
Agung Warehouse is one of pioneer of warehouse service that have been own certificate of ISO 9001:2008. The warehouse is built on 25,000 m2, in which 10,000 m2 is dedicated for CFS/LCL Import.
“Since we become a warehouse operator in Tanjung Priok in 1963, we have been continuously taking innovation. And now here we are with a new milestone; launching smart racking system, a system that can increase our utility and give added value to customer as it will fasten handling,” PT Agung Raya Director Ryano Panjaitan said in his remark speech.
Ryano said, the use of this system will double the warehouse utility and fasten the racking time from 55 to only 25 minutes. “We facilitate for a faster handling, especially in warehouse,” he said.
This system, Ryano explained, was built up by internal IT staff. “I appreciate very much for their creativity. This proves that our IT personals are capable to build a system.”
According to Ryano, before this smart racking system, Agung Warehouse has also adopted a odern WMS (warehouse management system) in which software application supports the day-to-day operations in its warehouse. “WMS programs enable centralized management of tasks such as tracking inventory levels and stock locations,” he said.
“With our smart racking system and online service, we offer our customer with a faster and safe handling, while on the same time, our wider warehouse, we offer our customer a place for more and more volume. And last but not least, we serve them without tipping,” Ryano said.
With those facilities and systems, Agung Warehouse continuously enjoyed an increasing volume to its warehouse. In 2016, for example, Agung Warehouse handled 9,788 teus of import FCL (full container load) and 9,458 teus of import LCL (less than container load). In addition, it also handled 37,970 teus of domestic containers.
“We hope, we will handle more and more in the future. Moreover, we still have more available utility,” he said, adding that the volume above was only 40% of total capacity.
