The forum held on August 28-30, will synergize and standardize pilotage services activities  in Asia Pacific Region

Taking place at the Dinasty Resort Hotel Denpasar, Bali, some countries member of International Maritime Pilots' Association (IMPA) will join the forum, including from Australia, India, China, Philipina, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hongkong, Thailand, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Srilangka, Banglandesh, Kamboja, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, and other member countries.

Chairman of “The 1 St Asia Pacific Maritime Pilot Forum” Committee Capt. Supardi said that the Asia Pacific Maritime Pilot Forum is done to synergize and standardize pilotage service activities in Pacific Region. In addition, it is also meant to to make improvement in service quality and to prioritize the factors of safety, environment, and service accuracy as well. 

“This forum is done in Indonesia in view of Indonesia's position as an archipelagous and maritime country. As a maritime country, sea ports play key role as the main gateway of trade activities and people movement and as the hub among transportation modes. Hence, the port services, induding its pilotages service has a strategic values to the state economy and community," Capt Supardi said explaining the reasons why this forum held in Indonesia. 

In addition, this firts Asia Pacific Maritime Pilot Forum, according to Capt. Supardi, is done referring to the recommendation of IMPA 23rd Congress in Seoul-Korea, in which INAMPA was appointed to conduct the forum relating to the piloting activities in Asia Pacific. This first forum takes the theme: The Role of Maritime Pilots for Maritime Sustainability.

"The pilotages service will become an indicator of a fast and accurate service, in addition to safety as top priority aspect, of course," he said. 

As an association pilotage entities in Indonesia, INAMPA is also a member  of IMPA, the international organization of global pilotages entities headquartered in  London, England. 

This Asia Pacific Maritime Pilot Forum will be officially opened by Indonesia's Coordinating Minister of Martime Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, while some key note speakers include Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, President of IMPA, President of KMPA, President of Inampa, Directors of Pelindo I, II, III and IV, Director of Pertamina (Shipping), as well as some maritime  experts both national and international.

The discussions during the event will be host (moderators) by among others  Pasoroan Herman Harianja (President of Inampa), Capt. Na Jong Pai (Presiden of KMPA), Capt. Ferry Akbar (Pilot Expert), Capt. Supardi (Pilot Expert), Capt. Ahmad Jauhari (Pilot Expert), and some international maritime experts.

Some related business products and stakeholders will also take part  in the forum, including port operators, logistics  providers, importers and exporters, Martime industry players, BUP doing pilotage services, tug service  providers, etc
