Juswandi Kristanto, CEO and owner of stevedoring company  (PBM) PT Daisy Mutiara Samudera (DMS), won the election for the chairman of Indonesia Stevedoring Companies Association  Chapter DKI Jakarta (APBMI DKI), for the period of 2017-2022,  after getting majority voters on the election  yesterday (October 26).

The incumbent chairman got 53 votes, of total 55 voters, while the contender Herman Firdaus, from stevedoring company PT Anugerah Firdaus Mandiri got 2 votes.  As many as 59 stevedoring companies (of total 85 members) joint the election that was done in parallel with the second regional assembly meeting (Muswil), plus 25 participants representing of APBMI Headquarter and some regional offices DPW/DPC.

On his remark speech, Juswandi underlined that the election process proved the democratic tradition within the organization, but he called for solidity for the sake of the organization in the future. “Thanks for all your support. But, now here we are. We have passed this process successfully. We are all the winners and let us now be hand in hand for our better future.”
Juswandi appreciated this Muswil committee, both steering committee (SC) and organizing committee (OC) that have successfully organized the event. He is also so grateful for the title the committee took for discussion.

This 2nd Muswil discussed a very interesting topic of the future partnership among port operators (BUP) with stevedoring companies (PBM), in responding the ministerial decree PM 152 stressing that the BUP – though it is probable to self handle the stevedoring activities at its ports/terminals – can do cooperation with PBM in handling stevedoring/cargodoring activities.

The topic absolutely activates participants’ attention. Some speakers that participated and did presentation during the discussion included Head of Tanjung Priok Port Authority (OP) I Nyoman Gede Saputra, IPC/Pelindo II’s Commercial and Business Development Director Saptono Rahayu Irianto, and Chairman of DPP APBMI HM Fuadi
