Officially Launched, Indonesia Shipping Community Welcomes CMA CGM's KCS Service

CMA CGM Group, under its CNC Shipping Line, on Wednesday, December 13, officially lauanced its KCS (Korea - China - Southeast Asia) Services in Jakarta, socializing and announcing the new services to the Indonesia community, the shipping, logistics, and related business in particular. 

The services has actually been on stage since November, with first sailing from Dalian on November 18. KCS service will call the ports of Dalian, Xingang, Lianyungang, Kwangyang, Pusan, Shanghai, Nansha, Singapore, Port Klang, Tanjung Priok (Jakarta), Tanjung Perak (Surabaya), and Manila.  

On his remarks speech for the official launching, Farid Belbouad, President Director of PT Container Maritime Activities as agent for CMA CGM, APL, ANL, and CNC in Indonesia,  said that this new service proves a strong commitment of CMA CGM Group to support the Indonesia market, while on the same time it indicates that the Indonesian sea trade market is so potential.

"We see a very good market from this country. We handle more than 12,000 TEUS of loading and unloading from Indonesia per week, totaling of our six direct services of both intra Asia and our direct service from Jakarta to US," he said. 

"And this KCS will strengthen our position in the trade between Indonesia and intra Asia," Farid said. 

Farid underlined that CMA CGM Group that started business in Indonesia since 1995, will continue to do more expansion, both of intra Asia and long haul direct services to US and North Europe. 

"We have made Tanjung Priok as our hub," he said. 

He sent CMA CGM appreciation  to the government of Indonesia and to the state owned port operator IPC that has shown a strong partnership in supporting its service expansion to/from Indonesia. 

Meanwhile, Till Ole Barrelet, Managing Director of CNC said that the KCS Service will reinforce the CNC and CMA CGM Group footprint in intra Asia trade, including to and from Indonesia.  It will offer superior transit between Indonesia and Manila.

He said CNC will deploy five to six Panamax vessels for the KCS service.

In addition to launching of the new service, the CMA CGM together with Indonesia shipping and related business community also celebrated  its achievement as the best global shipping line in 2017. 

Shipping Community Welcomes

Indonesia shipping and related business community appreciates the CMA CGM Group of its support to Indonesia shipping industry and welcome the new services, expecting the KCS Service can encourage the Indonesia's export, the ones to intra Asia in particular. 

IPC President Director Elvyn G.Massasya said his high appreciation to CMA CGM of its commitment to bring more and more calls to Indonesia, to Tanjung Priok in particular. 

"Big appreciation to CMA CGM of its contineously support through adding more and more calls to our ports. Congregulation of being the best shipping lines in 2017," he said. 

Elvyn promised to give the best service  in the port. "We will continue to improve our service and port facilities. Hopefully, you (CMA CGM) are satisfied with our service."

Elvyn hailed for a very good partnership between IPC and CMA CGM especally in realizing the IPC target in serving long distance direct call between Tanjung Priok and US and Tanjung Priok with North Europe. 

"CMA CGM has fulfilled our long awaited program to open direct call," he said, adding: "We hope more direct calls with bigger vessels will run soon."

Yanti Agustinova, Commercial Senior Manager of Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) say welcome to the new service. CMA CGM, Yanti said, is the leading customer of JICT, feeding more than 400,000 TEUS a year to this Indonesia's biggest container terminal.

Meanwhile, one of CMA CGM customer, Julie Argha, from Raja Mulia Torusdo Argha Lines, expected the new service will help them with a faster and more efficient service in shipping cargoes from Indonesia to intra Asia, including to Manila, Phillpine. 

"We always use CMA CGM in shipping our containerized cargoes to Manila. Hopefully, this new services will help us much with a faster and more efficient shipping to Manila," she said.
