APL has just announced (June 14) the introduction of the China Southeast Asia Service 8 (CS8), a weekly service that will directly connect central and southern China with Indonesia.

APL's new CS8 is poised to provide direct access from the key Chinese markets of Shanghai, Ningbo and Shekou to Indonesia’s largest port cities of Jakarta and Surabaya.

Shipments from Shanghai will arrive in Jakarta and Surabaya in as soon as eight and 11 days respectively. Cargo from Shekou to these same Indonesian ports will be delivered in five and eight days respectively.

Complementing APL’s weekly China Southeast Asia Service 6 (CS6), CS8 will be the carrier’s second service string from Shanghai and Ningbo to Jakarta and Surabaya.

CS8 will commence sailing from Shanghai on 30 June. Its service rotation is Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Jakarta – Surabaya – Kaohsiung – Shanghai.

In addition, on the same day, APL also unveiled the new weekly China Australia Service 6 (CA6) that will connect the central and southern China ports of Shanghai, Ningbo and Yantian to the largest eastern Australian cities of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Designed to provide the industry's fastest transit times, CA6 promises to deliver shipments from Yantian and Shanghai to Sydney in 11 and 14 days respectively. With CA6 complementing APL's China Australia Service 3 (CA3), China Australia Service 2 (CA2) and China Australia Service (CAS) that provide weekly coverage between China and Australia, APL shippers can expect to benefit from yet another shipping cut-off time from Shanghai and Shenzhen to eastern Australia each week.

The first effective sailing of CA6 is scheduled for 17 August from Ningbo. The service will call the ports of Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane
