JPPI Accomplished Equipment Maintenance at 10 Ports in Q1

In the first quarter   (Q1) of 2018, from January to April 2018, PT Jasa Peralatan Pelabuhan Indonesia (JPPI), which is a subsidiary of Pelindo II, has succeeded to finish the maintenance work of stevedoring equipment at 10 branch ports under the management of Pelindo II. The 10 ports are Panjang, Pontianak, Teluk Bayur, Palembang, Tanjung Priok, Bengkulu, Cirebon, Banten, Jambi and Pangkal Balam.

“The maintenance works show that the average availability of  the equipment reaches 95% with total equipment is 363 units,” the President Director of JPPI, Bimo Widihatmoko said on last Monday (6/12/2018).

Bimo explained that his company would continue holding business development innovation through market expansion in the procurement of stevedoring equipment service as well as the maintenance of stevedoring equipment at both domestic and foreign ports.

“JPPI is indeed directed to be a global player in the procurement and maintenance of stevedoring equipment in the port,” he added.

As an effort to realize the target, JPPI would keep improving human resources competence to simultaneously enhance the trust of partners and customers. The activity, for example, was in the form of Maintenance Awareness for Operation training that was held on last February.

In addition, JPPI also implemented Full Maintenance Contract (FMC). This was a program that provided planning and implementation of maintenance, including the procurement of manpower, consumer goods, parts and supporting equipment that were required to be done fully by the project work organizer.

“Through this FMC patters, it is expected that there will be improvement on working sites by keep maintaining the quality and Service Level Agreement (SLA) that is set as a condition,” Bimp said adding that he felt blessed that in this 2018 period, the company has won two awards in the event of Proudly Present Indonesia Best of Award 2018. The two awards were the Indonesia Excellent Quality Award and Indonesia Education Quality Award.

Besides building cooperation with branch ports under Pelindo II, JPPI also conducted cooperation with other Pelindo II’s subsidiaries, such as with PT Pelabuhan Indonesia Investama (PII) in the form of project and investment funding cooperation, which was signed on last February 26, Then, there was also cooperation agreement with the Association of Stevedoring Companies in Indonesia (APBMI) of Jakarta Office.

There was also cooperation with PT Energi Pelabuhan Indonesia (EPI) in the sector of Electricity Works and Services in Pelindo II, which was signed on last March 2. It also held cooperation with PT Pendidikan Maritim Logisik Indonesia (PMLI) in the form of education and training for human resources at stevedoring service sector.
