Pelindo IV Held 2nd Work Meeting in 2018

Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises which manages ports in eastern Indonesia held their 2nd work meeting in 2018. The meeting was held on Monday, September 24th 2018 and took place in Multi-Purpose Room of Pelindo IV in the 7th floor of their main office in Makassar. The theme for the meeting was “Synchronization and Synergy of District Government Program with PT Pelindo IV to Improve Trade Connectivity and Logistics in Eastern Indonesia.”

PT Pelindo IV and PT Pelindo III signed an MOU in this meeting. The MOU was signed by their CEO, Doso Agung from Pelindo III and Farid Padang from Pelindo IV. Focusing on building eastern Indonesia, this MOU is in line with Rini Soemarno, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises instruction. Her instruction was for State-Owned Enterprises to cooperate and synergize with other State-Owned Enterprises. One of the cooperation is to improve the connectivity on eastern Indonesia.

Another cooperation between Pelindo III and Pelindo IV is to co-manage ports and special terminal (tersus). Some tersus that are going to be co-managed are Bintuni Gas Tersus in West Papua, Terus Morowali, Tersus Weda Bay in Halmahera, and Tersus Luwu Timur. Those special terminal will be co-managed by the two State-Owned Enterprises.

PT Pelindo IV optimist they could achieve the projected profit of IDR 1 Trillion. Their confidence came from their new businesses. From new ports management rights for ports under Sea Transportation to the management rights for special terminal. They had acquired the rights to manages Morowali Nickel Special Terminal, and Weda Bay special terminal in Halmahera. Furthermore, they planned to increase the number of feeder ships to improve eastern Indonesian connectivity that could become the source of their income.

The plan to open 7 new ports in eastern Indonesia also boost their confidence. Those 7 ports are Ambon port, Sorong, Manokwari, Merauke, Gorontalo, Ternate, and Kendari port.
On this meeting, PT Pelindo IV also invited 5 Governor of eastern Indonesia. They are the Governor of South Sulawesi, South-East Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, Maluku, and Papua. Furthermore, the meeting was attended by all of Pelindo IV structural officer and branches GM.
