ISAA Hands over Certificates of IMDG Code just Two Weeks After Training

Indonesia Shipping Agents’ Association (ISAA) today, November 30, 2023, had delivered certificates on IMDG Code (International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code) to participants who joint the training on the code on November 6-10, 2023.

The certificates were ready just more than two weeks after the training, thanks to ISAA efforts that continuously encouraged the authority – the Directorate of KPLP of the Ministry of Transportation to issue those certificates.

In cooperation with training centre Lemdik Sasendo, ISAA conducted 5-days IMDG Code training- a training on procedures for handling dangerous goods at ports – from 6 to 10 November, 2023) in Jakarta.

The symbolic handover of the certificate was carried out at the office of ISAA Chapter Jakarta the ISAA Deputy Chairman Capt. Rusdi Iskandar and witnessed by Secretary General Eduard Sijabat and representative of Lemdik Sasendo Topan Ginanjar.

Commending this ISAA General Secretary Eduard explained that ISAA had efforted to issue the certificates soon after the training in view of the fact that the certificates are needed in handling the dangerous cargoes as the regulation (Permenhub 16/2021) has required.

“The certificates were ready only in 13 work days. Today, we could hand over them (certificates) to participants, thanks to fast process from KPLP. For shipping agents, these certificates are needed in handling dangerous goods,” Eduard said.

Previously, ISAA, in collaboration with the Sesendo Training Institute, conducted training on procedures for handling dangerous goods at ports in accordance with Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 16/2021. The training was held in the office of ISAA DKI Jakarta, Tanjung Priok.
