The CMA CGM Group, a world leader in shipping and logistics, proves its commitment to support Indonesia local products to go global as it has just launched a new product of barge service connecting Batam with Singapore.
Named Perawang Singapore Batam Barge (PSBB) Service, this new offering links the ports of Batam and Perawang in Indonesia, with Singapore.
Apart from establishing its first connection between the two Indonesian islands and Singapore, the new service also enables CMA CGM to meet the strong demand for equipment and keep shippers’ supply chain moving.
The PSBB service caters mainly to the electronics, and pulp and paper industries located in Batam and Perawang respectively.
The offering would efficiently facilitate export shipments bound for Europe, the United States, the Mediterranean and Intra-Asia via the trans-shipment hub of Singapore where the comprehensive intra-regional and global services of the Group converge.
John Lim, General Manager of CMA CGM Indonesia, said: “The launch of the barge service underscores the CMA CGM Group’s strategic commitment to serve and support the local economy by taking Indonesia cargoes to markets afar; enhance our existing product offering; and add value to our customers’ experience and journey.”
PSBB will make its first vessel call today at Singapore with a service rotation of Perawang – Singapore – Batam – Perawang.
