IPC TPK Handles Meratus’ New Services of JME

IPC TPK container terminal – Terminal 3 Tanjung Priok – again handled the new service of national shipping line Meratus – the Java Malaysia Express (JME) routing Jakarta – Port Klang – Jakarta.

Serving weekly, this new service is expected to overcome the problem of space shortage to support the Indonesia’s export.

“We appreciate the trust of Meratus to use our terminal (Terminal 3) for its new service. Hopefully, this proves our better services to customers. In the future, we will continue to improve our services to all customers, including to Meratus. We will improve our operational through digitalization and human resources improvement,” said IPC TPK Commercial and Business Development Director David Sirait.

The first call of JME was handled by KM Meratus Project 3 on March 6, 2022. This 139-meter LOA containership was planned to load as many as 8,400 tons of containerized cargo of export.

“IPC TPK will continue to pro-actively explore various potentials, establish synergies and cooperation with domestic and foreign shipping lines. In addition to contributing to the efficiency of national logistics costs, we hope that this new additional international service can encourage increased trade flows through Indonesia’s export-import activities in the midst of efforts to recover the economy due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” said David.

Last year (2021), IPC TPK Panjang also handled another Meratus’ service of  PING Service (Panjang – Singapura and Jakarta – Singapura).

In 2021, IPC TPK experienced a positive performance in the midst of improving conditions in the global economy due to the Covid-19 pandemic and inflationary pressures due to supply chain disruptions and energy constraints. IPC TPK handled 2.72 million TEUs, totalling of its 6 terminals, an increase compared to the previous year of 2.58 million TEUs.
