Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), today, May 14, 2024, welcome the maiden voyage of SI8 Service. This maiden voyage was marked by the call of MV Wan Hai 309.
As reported earlier the consortium of three shipping lines – Wan Hai, Interasia Lines (IAL) and KMTC – had jointly launched a new Southeast Asia-India VIII (SI8)/Asia-Indian Subcontinent 5 (AIS5) service from 26 April 2024 to connect Jakarta, Surabaya, Singapore, Port Klang(N), Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Port Klang(N), Jakarta. The SI8/AIS5 service will turn in 28 days using 4 ships.

The AIS5 service of KMTC had firstly called at JICT last week, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
Wan Hai will deploy two containerships for this SI8 South East – India, including MV Wan Hai 309, a Singapore flag vessel with LOA of 221 M and width of 29 meter.
On its maiden voyage ceremony at the birth of JICT, MV Wan Hai 309 Master Dela Torre Donato Tambiga and Chief Office Pedro Lemuel Pedro were welcome by JICT management and Wan Hai management.
On his remark statement for this new service, JICT Vice President Director Budi Cahyono delivered appreciation for this service and revealed that this service would support the direct delivery of cargoes from Indonesia to India.
“We are so proud that our terminal has been the choice for this service. We appreciate Wan Hai for choosing us (JICT) for this service,” said Budi Cahyono.
In addition to Budi Cahyono, some JICT managerial boards, including Senior Marketing Manager Rommy F and JICT Commercial Team joint the the welcoming ceremony.

Meanwhile, some Wan Hai Lines representatives including Mr. Harris Hsu (Wan Hai Chief Owner Representative), Mr. Marcus Du (Asst. Chief OR-Sales Representative), Mr. Henning Sakti (Deputy General Manager), Mr Johan Utama (Wan Hai Operation Manager), and representative of Boarding Agent Tresnamuda Mr Hasan Kamal, Mr Nano, and Mr Muhajir also joint the event.
On its statement, Wan Hai Lines believes that this new service will provide more alternative for its customers in shipping their cargoes to South East Asia and India.
