JR Southeast Sulawesi Distributes Over IDR 25.5 Billion in Traffic Accident Compensation

PT. Jasa Raharja (JR) Southeast Sulawesi, the state-owned insurance company dedicated to supporting victims of traffic accidents, has distributed over IDR 25.5 billion in compensation between January and October 2024. This financial assistance was provided to 1,341 traffic accident victims, including 239 fatalities and 1,102 individuals who were injured.

In a press briefing on November 13, 2024, Abdillah, Head of the Jasa Raharja Southeast Sulawesi Branch, highlighted the company’s commitment to swift and efficient compensation processing. “The average compensation payment is completed in just one day and eight hours, well ahead of our target of two days,” Abdillah stated.

The swift disbursement of compensation reflects Jasa Raharja’s ongoing efforts to provide timely relief to accident victims and their families. Abdillah emphasized that the company strives to meet the needs of traffic accident victims as quickly as possible, easing the financial burden on those affected by such unfortunate events.

“The compensation payment process is a crucial part of our mission to support victims, and we are continuously improving the speed and efficiency of our services to better serve the community,” Abdillah added.

Proactive Efforts

In addition to its compensation efforts, Jasa Raharja Southeast Sulawesi is also actively engaged in transportation safety campaigns aimed at reducing the number of traffic accidents and fatalities. The company employs various strategies to promote road safety education and awareness.

Among the key initiatives is the “Traffic Safety Caring Teacher Program,” which educates schoolteachers and students about safe road practices. Jasa Raharja also conducts safety campaigns, including the installation of banners at high-risk traffic accident hotspots, free health checkups, and integrated road safety surveys. Another significant effort includes the Ram Checks of public transportation in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety of public transport services.

“We believe that prevention is just as important as compensation. Through these programs, we aim to reduce the occurrence of accidents and help build a culture of road safety in the community,” Abdillah explained.
