NPCT1 Welcomes Maiden Call of CU Lines’ Vietnam Gulf Express

New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1) welcomes the maiden call of CU Lines’ VGX (Vietnam Gulf Express) service marked by the first call of MV Zhong Gu Chang Sha early this week on Monday, June 10, 2024.

As the report has said, CU Lines has recently enhanced its VGX (Vietnam Gulf Express) service, connecting India and the Middle East hubs to Jakarta, with new port rotation: Jakarta – Port Klang – Mundra – Jebel Ali – Dammam – Mundra – Port Klang – Laem Chabang.

The service is operated by CU Lines in a consortium with 6 other Liners namely Emirates Shipping Line, CMA CGM, RCL, KMTC, Global Feeder Shipping and Pacific International Lines.

In its official statement relating its call to NPCT1, CU Line said, “We are thrilled to announce that NPCT1 serves our best-in-class operation for the VGX service.”

MV Zhong Gu Chang Sha, which made her maiden call at NPCT1 with voyage handling throughput of approximately 1,600 boxes, berthed in the morning on 10 June 2024 and sailed off NPCT1 within the same day. The revamped VGX service provides an enhanced direct connection and fast transit between the Middle East, India and Southeast Asia to meet increasing demands in these regions.

The maiden call of this new VGX service was celebrated with a presentation of plaques from NPCT1’s Management team to the Master of MV Zhong Gu Chang Sha, CU Lines and Samudera Agencies Indonesia, which is the established sole agent for CU Lines in Indonesia.
