Chairman of International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association Regional Asia Pacific Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi encourages all participants of FIATA RAP Meeting to explore more opportunities in building networking in doing logistics business, amid the global logistics business that is more challenging.
In his remark speech to open the second day meeting of FIATA RAP Meeting 2024, Yukki said: “Logistics is vital for the economy, therefor any policy imposed by government might impact to the logistics performance.”
“Yesterday we have started interesting discussion on some topics with UNESCAP, a UN body in Asia pacific region whom focusing in social economy. I am hoping that UNESCAP will continue fostering and support this kind of meeting and discussion with FIATA to facilitate the logistics future growth development,” Yukki said.
“After this session, the host have prepared facility for B2B meeting, I hope you can optimize this opportunity to broaden your network and explore opportunity as usual.”
Yukki suggests all participants to explore more opportunities to build networking. “To Indonesian participants, its your chance to start international venture and taking most benefits from privilege being a host of this event. While for participant from region, you need to explore networking with Indonesian companies, caused you will surprised by how big and complex the logistics in Indonesia, and right view and partner shall give you better solution to your customers at your country,” he said.
The second day of FIATA RAP Meeting 2024 would highlight the FIATA programs that have and would be implemented, while delegate members would present the logistics business challenges and opportunities at their own countries.
FIATA President Director Dr. Stephane Graber reports on the progress of various FIATA programs in the last year and the program that would be continued this year (2024).
The programs that have been run include the implementation of eFBL (Digital FIATA Multimodal Bill of Lading – Digital FBL), training programs, global air cargo program, and implementation of trade facilitation measurers
According to Stephane, the eFBL usage figures have continued to increase significantly in the last two years. To date, around 2000 eFBLs have been sold worldwide, including to India and Vietnam.
“CargoX and Cargowise are two software that are favorites in eFBL,” he said.
Apart from the implementation of eFBL, Stephane also emphasized that training activities had also become FIATA’s main program in the last year. Training activities, including the ICAO FIATA Dangerous goods by air training program, he said, continue to increase.
“In addition to these two activities, in the last year, we have also focused on implementing the global air cargo program and implementing trade facilitation measurers,” he said.
Several delegates from FIATA RAP member countries also expressed their views regarding business challenges and opportunities in their respective countries. The Indian delegation, for example, presented various logistics business opportunities in the country with the largest population in the world.
According to representatives of the country’s delegation, India is a country with unlimited business opportunities. This is certainly an opportunity for business actors, especially business actors in the logistics sector. Moreover, the Indian government continues to improve infrastructure so that it can support logistics activities.
