CMA CGM Expands Presence in Indonesia with BSX Service and Batam Office

French shipping and logistics company CMA CGM has opened a new office in Batam and launched the Batam Singapore Express (BSX) service, aiming to strengthen its footprint in Indonesia and enhance connectivity for local businesses.

“This expansion is an exciting milestone as it brings us closer to our customers in Batam and underscores our commitment to supporting the growth of the local economy,” said Michel Azrak, President Director of CMA CGM Indonesia.

“We are confident that BSX will provide our customers with greater connectivity and a competitive advantage in reaching global markets.”

The company said the Batam expansion is part of its broader strategy to invest in Indonesia’s maritime infrastructure and logistics services. CMA CGM has operated in Indonesia since 1995 and currently maintains eight offices, 15 sub-agents, and employs over 500 staff across the country.

The Group operates 13 shipping services calling at 25 ports in Indonesia. Through its subsidiaries CEVA Logistics and CMA CGM Inland Services, it offers integrated intermodal solutions linking Indonesian ports with global trade routes.
