“Pelindo is open to receiving feedback and aspirations from container truck drivers. We are committed to coordinating these concerns with the relevant stakeholders at the port to find solutions together. The port is a shared ecosystem, and its smooth operation is crucial as it serves as a national vital object (obvitnas),” Adi Sugiri said during a meeting in North Jakarta on Tuesday (11/2).

Adi acknowledged the challenges truck drivers face at the port, particularly the long queues at container terminals. He noted that this congestion often arises during busy periods, such as long holidays, when goods owners rush to complete deliveries.

“We apologize for any shortcomings in service to the drivers. This is an opportunity for us to evaluate and improve services, particularly in the areas of receiving and delivery. We have also increased the number of clean toilets available at the terminals for truck drivers,” he explained.

Regarding reports of extortion within the port area, Adi emphasized Pelindo’s commitment to maintaining integrity throughout its operations. He reiterated the company’s collaboration with various agencies and law enforcement bodies, including Stranas PK, the Prosecutor’s Office, the Ombudsman, and Transparency International Indonesia, to support the Clean Port initiative.

“Pelindo has implemented an independent whistleblowing system, Pelindo Bersih WBS, through which individuals can report extortion, corruption, or other misconduct. This system is accessible online 24/7, from anywhere. If any individual is found to be involved in extortion, Pelindo will take immediate and strict action,” Adi concluded.

Despite a demonstration by some truck drivers on Tuesday (11/2/2025), the situation at Tanjung Priok Port remained calm, and operations continued smoothly. Traffic flow conditions were normal, from the front gate of the New Priok Container Terminal (NPCT-1) to Post 9 of the port, where the protest took place. Ship services and loading and unloading activities at the port were unaffected and ran as usual.

The truck drivers involved in the protest raised several concerns, particularly regarding congestion issues at Tanjung Priok Port, Indonesia’s busiest port. The Indonesian Truck Entrepreneurs Association (Aptrindo) Jakarta clarified that the demonstration was not related to its members.
