Tanjung Priok Port has expanded its container handling capabilities with the arrival of two new Rail Mounted Quay Cranes (RMQCs), delivered from South Korea. The cranes arrived at the port earlier today and mark a significant step in enhancing terminal efficiency at Indonesia’s busiest port.
The unloading process began at 3:00 PM this afternoon.
The two RMQCs will be installed at Berth 211 and Berth 208, where they are expected to significantly boost operational capacity and reduce vessel turnaround time.
The addition of these cranes is expected to significantly boost operational capacity and reduce vessel turnaround time at the port.

A contacted source told Indonesia Shipping Gazette, the two RMQCs are owned by national shipping companies Meratus (MSA) and Temas, both of which also operate container terminals at Tanjung Priok Port.
Their investment reflects a growing trend of collaboration between shipping lines and terminal operators to improve service quality and infrastructure.
The newly arrived quay cranes will support the increasing volume of container traffic at Tanjung Priok, further solidifying its role as a critical logistics gateway for both domestic and international trade.
