PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) has achieved positive results in its ship service activities through February 2025, successfully implementing effective planning and operational control methods.
This year, TTL has met its target for Effective Time (ET) compared to Berthing Time (BT), reaching 87.98% for international container ships and 80.66% for domestic ships, surpassing its goal of 81% for international ships and 73% for domestic ones.
This achievement highlights TTL’s commitment to conducting efficient and effective ship service operations. As a result, TTL has managed to handle a total of 143,179 TEUs in container loading and unloading from January to February 2025, marking a 4.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024, which saw 136,746 TEUs.
In anticipation of the surge in container flow ahead of Eid 2025, TTL is implementing proactive strategies to manage potential bottlenecks. These include closely monitoring the flow of goods to avoid congestion in both container and dry bulk cargo stacking yards. Two international vessels have already been scheduled to dock at TTL, with domestic route confirmations expected before and after Eid.
To ensure smooth operations, TTL is coordinating closely with shipping lines and cargo owners to predict and manage container volume and delivery schedules effectively. Additionally, TTL is offering an early stacking option for customers, allowing them to store goods in advance and avoid disruptions caused by operational restrictions on trucks during the travel ban period.
David Pandapotan Sirait, President Director of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong, explained in an official statement on Tuesday (March 18, 2025) that TTL is implementing several strategies to prepare for the increased flow of goods during Ramadhan.
“This includes scheduling the stacking yard, providing clear communication to customers about stacking schedules and cut-off times, and ensuring smooth operations to prevent shipping bottlenecks,” he said.
David further emphasized the importance of providing tailored operational solutions, such as alternative multimodal shipping or additional equipment, to expedite the distribution process. “These measures will help TTL maintain smooth logistics operations, minimize the impact of truck restrictions, and continue to provide excellent service during the fasting month and Eid al-Fitr holidays,” added David.
