In a move that underscores its commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) conducted a comprehensive performance evaluation at its headquarters in Surabaya, reviewing its progress through May 2025.
More than just a routine assessment, the event served as a platform for listening, particularly to the voices of the terminal’s valued service users.
David Pandapotan Sirait, President Director of TTL, opened the event with a message of gratitude and collaboration. “The voices of our service users are vital,” he said.
“Their feedback shapes the way we improve and refine our services. It’s part of our ongoing mission to deliver operational and commercial excellence.”
Over the first five months of 2025, TTL rolled out a series of strategic improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency and boosting capacity. Among the most notable were training programs to sharpen the skills of terminal personnel, including courses in Basic Container Terminal Operations, Technical Planning & Control, and a refresher on Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.

On the infrastructure front, TTL has made significant investments. The company completed leveling, compacting, and paving operations in its Container Yard (CY) area, particularly for domestic empty containers. As a result, the area can now support increased stacking, with equipment like the Empty Handler able to lift containers up to seven tiers high.
These improvements are already translating into measurable results. TTL recorded a 3% year-over-year increase in ship calls, 615 calls through May 2025 compared to 597 in the same period last year. Container throughput also rose by 4.7%, from 341,973 TEUs to 358,127 TEUs.
May 2025 marked a particularly strong month for the terminal, with 142 ship visits and a container flow of 80,959 TEUs, the highest monthly figures for the year so far.
From the user side, feedback has been both constructive and appreciative. Agus Prabowo, representing PT Salam Pacific Indonesia Lines, acknowledged TTL’s consistent efforts to deliver quality service.
“With the rise in container volume, we’re hopeful that TTL’s operational performance will continue to improve, particularly in reducing berthing time, which directly impacts turnaround time for shipping lines,” Agus noted.
Looking ahead, TTL is set to continue refining its operations, optimizing resources, and maintaining a disciplined approach to planning and control. With user feedback guiding its strategy, the company aims to set new standards in terminal performance and customer satisfaction.
“We’re not just moving containers,” David Sirait emphasized. “We’re building trust, enabling trade, and growing together with our partners.”
