Indonesia’s PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) won two honours at the Iconomics Social Business Innovation Forum 2025, securing recognition for its sustainability initiatives and leadership at an event hosted on Thursday at the Ministry of Social Affairs in Jakarta.

The state-linked port operator received the Best Social Business Innovation Award in the container terminal management category, while its president director, David Pandapotan Sirait, was named Best Green CEO 2025.

The Green CEO award was assessed on three indicators: alignment between corporate vision and long-term sustainability goals; the CEO’s direct involvement in environmental and social programmes; and a demonstrated commitment to balancing economic, social and ecological considerations in daily operations.

TTL’s leadership has been credited with strengthening the company’s CSR strategy by shifting it from philanthropic activities toward a Creating Shared Value (CSV) model aimed at supporting community resilience and inclusive green development.

David said the recognition reflected the collective work of TTL’s employees. “We are very grateful for this award. It is not mine personally but the result of the commitment of all Terminal Teluk Lamong employees to applying sustainability principles in their operations,” he said. “We will continue to strengthen our role as a pioneering green terminal in Indonesia by implementing clean technology and expanding community collaboration.”

The forum drew senior figures from the CSR and social innovation sectors, including The Iconomics Media founder and CEO Bram S. Putro; Abdul Ghofar Alhakim from the Jakarta Provincial Economic Bureau; RT8 Malaka Jaya founder Taufiq Supriadi; and Laode Taufik, director of potential and social resources at the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Laode said the government of President Prabowo Subianto was pushing to make social protection programmes more transparent and data-driven.

“CSR today is not just charity but a concrete application of Creating Shared Value,” he said, citing initiatives such as public schooling, free nutritious meals and free health checkups as examples of multi-sector collaboration.
