North Jakarta KADIN pledged closer cooperation with INSA Jaya after members re-elected incumbent chairman Andi Patonangi, emphasizing stronger maritime logistics and industry competitiveness
The North Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN Jakarta Utara) congratulated Andi Patonangi on his re-election as chairman of the Jakarta chapter of the Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA Jaya) for the 2026–2031 term, while reaffirming its commitment to deeper collaboration to strengthen Indonesia’s maritime and logistics sectors.
Patonangi was re-elected by acclamation during the 18th Members Meeting (RAC) of INSA Jaya held in Jakarta on Thursday, extending his leadership of one of Indonesia’s largest regional shipping industry associations for another five years.
Representing North Jakarta KADIN Chairman Arief Dharmawanto, Vice Chairman for Transportation and Logistics Capt. Andry Kristanto welcomed the outcome of the election.
“We congratulate Andi Patonangi on his election as chairman of INSA Jaya and wish him success in leading the organization over the next five years,” Andry said.
The election followed a nomination and verification process conducted in accordance with the association’s bylaws and organizational procedures, according to RAC organizing committee chairman Arwan Selmianto.
Arwan said only one candidate met all eligibility requirements to contest the position.
“As the sole eligible candidate, Andi Patonangi was confirmed to continue leading the organization for the 2026–2031 period,” he said.

Patonangi’s re-election is expected to provide continuity for the association as Indonesia’s shipping industry navigates regulatory adjustments, evolving market dynamics and broader efforts to modernize the country’s maritime sector.
Industry participants attending the meeting expressed confidence that continued leadership stability would help strengthen coordination among shipowners while supporting government initiatives aimed at enhancing national logistics performance and maritime competitiveness.
INSA Jaya has played an important role in representing shipping companies operating in and around Indonesia’s busiest maritime gateway, including Tanjung Priok Port, while serving as a key industry partner in discussions involving maritime regulations, logistics efficiency and trade facilitation.

According to Andry, stronger collaboration between business organizations, shipping companies and government institutions will be essential to creating a more competitive and sustainable maritime ecosystem.
“We believe cooperation across the maritime sector is increasingly important as Indonesia seeks to improve logistics efficiency and strengthen its position in regional and global trade,” he said.
Andry outlined three priorities that North Jakarta KADIN intends to pursue through its partnership with INSA Jaya.
The first involves strengthening the maritime ecosystem through broader cross-sector collaboration, including support for fleet rejuvenation programs, improved access to financing, initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and efforts to improve regulations affecting port operations.
The second priority focuses on strengthening organizational consolidation among industry stakeholders to reinforce the contribution of shipping companies to economic growth and national logistics resilience.
The third centers on facilitating discussions regarding operational challenges and logistics costs faced by businesses at major ports, including Tanjung Priok and Marunda, with the goal of developing practical solutions in coordination with relevant government agencies.
North Jakarta KADIN also welcomed the successful completion of INSA Jaya’s branch members meeting and leadership election process.
“We hope the elected chairman will continue strengthening the organization and guide its members in responding to future economic and industry challenges,” Andry said.
