PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva (SPSL), a subsidiary of PT Pelindo, is strengthening its innovation culture through its annual internal competition, aimed at improving efficiency and supporting long-term business growth.
The company recently concluded its 2025 SPSL Program of Innovation and Technology (SPRINT), themed “Ideas Built into Action,” with final pitching and awards held on March 4.
SPSL Director of Strategy and Business Development Retno Soelistianti said the program reflects the company’s commitment to embedding innovation across its operations, with a focus on customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and service development.

“Through this program, we aim to ensure innovation becomes an integral part of the workplace, while generating ideas that are practical and deliver value to the business and customers,” Retno said.
The 2025 program attracted 126 innovation proposals from employees across SPSL and its subsidiaries. Of those, 16 were shortlisted for final evaluation by the company’s board.
SPRINT 2025 featured three categories: Innovation Ideation (Open), Innovation Ideation (Operational), and Innovation Implementation. The latter two categories were newly introduced this year to encourage ideas that directly improve operational performance and support faster execution within business units.
The operational ideation category focuses on solutions to enhance services and support transformation efforts, while the implementation category emphasizes applied innovations and quick-win initiatives at the unit level.

Retno said the program, now in its fourth year, is designed to move beyond concept development and encourage execution of ideas that can contribute to measurable improvements.
Management is also providing mentoring and oversight for selected projects to support their rollout across SPSL and its subsidiaries, in line with the company’s human capital development goals.
At the closing event, SPSL hosted a “Sprint Talk” session featuring speakers in digital business, highlighting the role of technology adoption and ecosystem development in navigating an increasingly competitive landscape.
SPSL said it expects the program to further strengthen its innovation culture and support its broader business transformation, particularly in port support services and integrated port area development.
