PT Pelindo Solusi Maritim (PSM), a subholding of Pelindo Group, has won a Top CSR Award 2026 for its vocational welding program, which aims to improve workforce skills and employment opportunities for vocational school graduates.
The award was presented at the Top CSR Awards 2026 ceremony held at the Dian Ballroom, Raffles Hotel Jakarta, following an assessment process that included document reviews and interviews conducted by a panel of corporate social responsibility (CSR) experts.
PSM received the recognition for its Welder Vocational Program, which was launched in December 2024 and continued with a six-month internship phase in 2025. The program selected 10 participants from vocational high schools and provided technical training under instructors from BKI Academy, the training arm of the Indonesian Classification Bureau.
Vidyah Payapo, Corporate Secretary of PSM, said the welding program had become one of the company’s flagship CSR initiatives and was designed to help address industry demand for skilled welders while expanding employment opportunities for young people.
“The demand for qualified welders in Indonesia continues to grow, making this program relevant not only for industry needs but also for improving the employability of vocational school graduates,” Vidyah said during the award ceremony.
As a company involved in shipyard management and maritime services, PSM relies heavily on welding expertise in its operational activities, particularly in shipbuilding, repair and maintenance work, where metal fabrication plays a central role.
According to Vidyah, the program has already produced positive outcomes, with several participants establishing independent welding businesses while others have secured jobs at PSM and other companies.
The initiative forms part of PSM’s broader commitment to supporting human capital development and contributing to economic growth through skills-based community empowerment programs.
The Top CSR Awards is an annual recognition program that honors companies for implementing sustainable CSR initiatives that create measurable social and economic benefits for communities.
