TPK Koja Operations Remain Normal Amid Gate Controls

Container Terminal TPK Koja said on Wednesday that its operations are running normally following adjustments to logistics flows after the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holidays.

The terminal’s measures aim to maintain smooth cargo movement and support national logistics stability. Adjustments include regulating vehicle and container flow, modifying ship arrival and berthing schedules, and strengthening coordination through a cross-agency Command Center.

“All terminal operations remain normal. TPK Koja continues to ensure smooth service through strengthened coordination, capacity optimization, and real-time operational monitoring,” management said in a statement.

TPK Koja confirmed that all terminal facilities, equipment, and services are fully operational. Loading and unloading activities continue, with adjustments made according to real-time operational needs. The terminal warned that fluctuations in imported container flows could affect pickup times and advised service users to plan collections to ensure efficiency.

In addition, state-owned port operator Pelindo has implemented a phased congestion-control plan at TPK Koja to stabilize cargo flows and prevent a surge in post-holiday port traffic. Under the plan, terminal access will gradually increase over four weeks:

  • March 30 – April 12: Gate pass issuance capped at 50% of normal levels (up to 1,000 daily entries)
  • April 13 – April 19: Increased to 75% (1,500 daily entries)
  • April 20 – April 26: Full capacity restored (2,000 daily entries)

Vessel berthing is also being limited, with a maximum of two ships allowed simultaneously for the first three weeks and a six-hour interval enforced between berthings. Normal berthing capacity is expected to resume from April 20.

A centralized command center at Nusantara Pura Passenger Terminal will monitor conditions and coordinate responses until April 19. Pelindo said the measures are adaptive and may be adjusted based on operational conditions, emphasizing coordination with logistics providers and port users to maintain smooth cargo distribution.
