IPC TPK Launches CFS Service in Panjang Area

IPC Container Terminal (IPC TPK), a subsidiary of Pelindo Terminal Petikemas Subholding (SPTP), has launched its first Container Freight Station (CFS) service in the Panjang Area of Lampung. This new service addresses the growing need for storage facilities and plays a key role in supporting the efficient distribution of goods.

IPC TPK plans to collaborate with Multi Terminal Indonesia (MTI), a subsidiary of Pelindo Solusi Logistik Subholding (SPSL), in managing the CFS at Panjang Port.

Anang Subagyono, the Manager of IPC TPK Panjang Area, explained that this collaboration aims to revive cargo consolidation activities at Panjang Port, taking advantage of the strategic location between the Container Terminal and CFS. This positioning streamlines the logistics process, helping to reduce costs for goods owners who require both warehouse and CFS facilities.

The first stuffing and stripping activity at the new CFS facility took place on December 19, 2024. This operation served four tractor units, owned by importer PT Tanindo Intertraco, which had been shipped by PT MSC Indonesia from Qingdao Port to Panjang Port.

The newly established CFS at IPC TPK Panjang Area offers a range of services, including warehouse and storage facilities, container stacking yards, and spaces for stuffing and stripping. The facility is expected to stimulate local economic growth by providing competitive infrastructure for the international logistics and shipping markets. It is also anticipated to attract increased investment and trade volume in Lampung Province.

The launch ceremony for the CFS service was held at IPC TPK Panjang Area, attended by representatives from Pelindo Regional 2 Panjang, PT MTI’s General Manager of Logistics Regional 3, PT MTI’s Sumatra Region Manager, the Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office Type B Bandar Lampung, the Lampung Animal, Fish and Plant Quarantine Center, MSC Shipping Line’s Branch Manager, PT Tresnamuda Sejati’s Lampung Branch Head, PT Pulau Laut Line representatives, and PT Munthee Ekspedisi’s Consignee representatives.
