Meratus Line’s container ship, Meratus Lembar, marked the first ship calling to Tanjung Priok in 2025. This Indonesia-flagged vessel (IMO: 9821524) has a length overall (LOA) of 123.6 meters and a width of 22.8 meters. It berthed at Priok Domestic Terminal 207 at 00:00 WIB on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
The Meratus Lembar serves the domestic market with a route covering Teluk Bayur (Padang), Tanjung Priok (Jakarta), Tanjung Emas (Semarang), and Samarinda. This 8,588 gross tonnage vessel can carry over 800 TEUs. “We spent 26 hours traveling from Teluk Bayur to this port,” said the vessel’s captain Capt Absori during the first call ceremony held at Terminal 207.

This event was part of Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok’s New Year’s celebration, titled “Last Call Ship in 2024 and First Call Ship in 2025.” Absori added, “We will depart for Tanjung Emas this afternoon. Unloading and loading operations at this port will take less than a day.” The load factor from Tanjung Priok is expected to reach 70% of the vessel’s capacity.
Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok reported significant growth across all key performance indicators in 2024. Executive General Manager Adi Sugiri announced that the total ship calls reached 14,089 vessels, with a combined capacity of approximately 152 million GT. Container throughput hit 7.6 million TEUs, totaling from terminals of Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), Koja Container Terminal, New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1), and Terminal 3.
“Alhamdulillah, all indicators, including ship calls, cargo volumes, container throughput, and passenger numbers, showed year-on-year growth,” Adi stated during the event. In terms of cargo volume, Tanjung Priok recorded 16 million tons, while husbandry services reached 795,000 units. These achievements solidify the port’s position as Indonesia’s primary trade gateway and a key contributor to Pelindo’s operational backbone.
Tanjung Priok’s success also bolstered non-tax state revenue (PNBP), which amounted to IDR 460 billion in 2024. This marks a significant increase compared to 2023 and exceeds initial targets. “Tanjung Priok has reclaimed its position as the largest PNBP contributor in Indonesia, surpassing other major ports like Banjarmasin and Samarinda,” said Takwim Masuku, Head of the Tanjung Priok Port Authority (KSOP).

The New Year’s celebration featured a performance by the legendary band ‘Kusplus Junior’ and brought together employees, representatives from Pelindo subsidiaries, and various stakeholders. Attendees included representatives from government agencies, port authorities, customs offices, quarantine offices, police, and key industry associations such as the Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA), the Indonesian Stevedoring Companies’ Association (APBMI), and the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders’ Association (ALFI/ILFA). Trucking associations like Organda Ansuspel, APTRINDO, and Logiondo were also present.
Takwim expressed his appreciation for Pelindo’s consistent efforts to organize such events and emphasized the need for continued performance improvements in 2025. “If operational performance continues to improve, we are optimistic that PNBP will see another significant increase in the coming year,” he remarked.
