Terminal Teluk Lamong Launches Fatigue Monitoring Program to Enhance Operator Safety

In a proactive step to strengthen workplace safety and health standards, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) has launched a Fatigue Test program aimed at reducing the risk of operator-related accidents.

The initiative, which runs from May 5–16, 2025, is part of the company’s ongoing Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE/K3) program and is carried out in collaboration with Pelindo Husada Citra Hospital (RS PHC).

Targeting key operational personnel, including Ship to Shore Crane (STS) and Grab Ship Unloader (GSU) operators, the program focuses on monitoring fatigue levels as a critical component of health surveillance (Occupational Health Management).

Through a series of medical evaluations, including lactic acid testing before and after shifts, TTL aims to ensure its operators remain physically fit and alert throughout their working hours.

“Workplace safety is not just a requirement—it’s an investment in the long-term sustainability of our operations,” said Syaiful Anam, Corporate Secretary of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong.

“By regularly evaluating operator fatigue, we ensure our team is working in peak condition, which in turn enhances both safety and productivity,” he said further.

The medical assessments are conducted by a professional team from RS PHC, with data analyzed to objectively determine fatigue levels. The results will inform tailored health recommendations designed to reduce fatigue and its associated risks.

This initiative is one of several steps TTL has taken to prioritize employee health. The company has previously introduced preventive measures such as workplace stretching routines and light exercise to mitigate nerve and muscle strain caused by equipment vibration and poor ergonomics. Employees are also encouraged to stay hydrated throughout their shifts to maintain concentration and prevent fatigue-related issues.
