Public listed company PT Jasa Armada Indonesia Tbk (IPCM), a unit of Indonesia’s state-owned port operator Pelindo Group, reported stronger towing and pilotage activity in 2025, buoyed by rising port traffic, higher commodity flows and steady demand from energy and container vessels across the archipelago.
The company, which provides pilotage and towage services at major Indonesian ports, said its total towing production reached 1.85 million gross tonnage (GT) hours by the end of December 2025, up 6.67% from a year earlier.
The growth was driven by increased operations in the general segment, as well as services for private terminals and special-purpose ports, reflecting broader momentum in maritime trade and logistics.
Pilotage activity expanded at a faster pace. IPCM recorded pilotage production of 747.99 million GT in 2025, a 70.17% increase from the previous year.
Vessel movements surged to 101,544 calls, more than doubling from 2024, underscoring heightened ship traffic and customer reliance on the company’s services.
The gains were supported by strong regional performance, particularly in strategic operating areas where cargo volumes increased alongside stronger commodity exports. Rising activity in energy and liquefied natural gas shipments, as well as growing nickel transshipment in eastern Indonesia, also contributed to higher demand for IPCM’s services.
President Director Shanti Puruhita said the company’s 2025 performance provided a solid base for future expansion.
“The growth in towing and pilotage production through December 2025 reflects IPCM’s consistency in maintaining service reliability, shipping safety and operational efficiency,” she said. “This achievement gives us important capital to take more progressive steps in 2026.”
Looking ahead, IPCM plans to focus on strengthening operational reliability, improving productivity and advancing sustainable business practices.
The company also aims to deepen coordination with stakeholders, optimise fleet utilisation and continue upgrading workforce capabilities to support Indonesia’s port and logistics sector.
With port activity expected to remain robust, IPCM said it is confident it can further consolidate its position as a reliable and competitive provider of pilotage and towing services, while delivering long-term value to shareholders and industry partners.
