PTP Nonpetikemas Banten Boosts Productivity through Terminalization

PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) Banten Branch said it continued to improve port productivity and strengthen terminalization at Ciwandan Port to support logistics efficiency and industrial supply chains in western Indonesia.

The company said the improvements focused on dry bulk and liquid bulk terminals, supported by upgraded dock facilities, stacking yards, warehouses and loading equipment, as well as operational standardization and digitalized PTOS-M-based services.

PTP Nonpetikemas reported that general cargo productivity reached 2,773 tons per ship per day in the first quarter of 2026, or 117% of its target for the period. Dry bulk productivity also exceeded expectations, reaching 112% of the quarterly target at 4,975 tons per ship per day.

“We continue to ensure the readiness of facilities, equipment and operational personnel to provide optimal, safe and timely loading and unloading services,” Branch Manager Andi Purwantoro said in a statement.

“Digitalization has become a key milestone in improving services to customers, while supporting industrial supply chains and the regional economy,” he added.

Pelindo Regional 2 Banten General Manager Benny Ariadi said terminalization was part of the company’s strategy to develop more integrated and commodity-focused port services.

“Terminalization is aimed at creating a more professional and measurable service model to improve efficiency and transparency in logistics activities,” Benny said.

He added that Ciwandan Port currently operates dedicated liquid bulk and dry bulk terminals under permits issued for Pier 04 and Pier 02 respectively, strengthening Banten’s role as a national logistics hub.

Pelindo Regional 2 Banten oversees port operations in the province, while PTP Nonpetikemas, a subsidiary of the Pelindo Group, focuses on Nonpetikemasized cargo services. The region manages several strategic ports, including Ciwandan, IKPP and Bojonegara ports.

The company said it was currently handling operations for four vessels carrying strategic commodities at Ciwandan Port.

The vessels include MT SUCCESS VICTORY XXXIV carrying paraxylene for PT Indorama Petrochemicals at Pier 05A2, KM SARANA LINTAS UTAMA transporting dry bulk corn for PT Subur Mega Perkasa at Pier 05B, and MV SSI DARING II carrying wheat for PT Cerestar Flour Mills at Pier 05C.

Pier 07 is also serving TB ANUGRAH 17 – BG SENTOSA JAYA 2307, operated by PT Pilar Anugerah Stevedoring, transporting jumbo sack carbon cargo.
