IPC TPK First-Half Throughput Rises 7%

IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) handled 1,817,738 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in the first half this year (January – June, 2026), up 7% from 1,698,339 TEUs a year earlier, driven by stronger domestic and international trade across its terminal network

The state-owned container terminal operator said Panjang Terminal in Lampung recorded the strongest first-half growth, with throughput rising 17.4% from the same period last year. Tanjung Priok Terminal in Jakarta posted a 7.9% increase, while Pontianak Terminal in West Kalimantan recorded 3.8% growth.

“The increase reflects the company’s consistent operational strategy focused on safety, service speed and efficiency across all terminals,” Daniel Setiawan, IPC TPK’s Senior Manager of Corporate Secretariat, said in a statement.

The company also reported stronger monthly performance in June, when container throughput rose 11.5% year-on-year to 325,017 TEUs from 291,465 TEUs.

Panjang Terminal led the monthly gains, with throughput jumping 73.7% from a year earlier. Tanjung Priok Terminal followed with 10.8% growth, while Palembang Terminal recorded a 9.9% increase.

IPC TPK attributed the first-half performance to sustained cargo flows supported by domestic consumption and international trade, with its major terminals continuing to handle rising container volumes.

Daniel said the performance coincided with the company’s 13th anniversary and reflected its efforts to improve operational standards and service quality.

“We hope this positive momentum will encourage all employees to continue enhancing operational excellence and delivering better services to customers,” he said.
