The new board includes a stronger representation of younger members, with 40% of its management comprising young professionals. The organization said the regeneration is intended to strengthen institutional capacity, improve services for members, and address the evolving challenges facing Indonesia’s shipping industry.

In remarks delivered by Darmansyah Tanamas, Carmelita Hartoto called on the new management to maintain organizational solidarity, prioritize members’ interests, and strengthen collaboration with the government and industry stakeholders to support the development of the shipping sector in Tanjung Priok Port, Marunda Port, and the Thousand Islands.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Tanjung Priok Port Authority (KSOP), Marunda Class II KSOP, Kepulauan Seribu Class V KSOP, Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok, as well as business partners.

Speaking at the event, INSA Jaya Chairman Andi Patonangi reaffirmed his commitment to building a more professional, adaptive, and collaborative organization.

He said Tanjung Priok Port, together with supporting ports in the Jakarta area, continues to serve as a strategic hub for domestic and international cargo flows and national logistics, presenting both opportunities and challenges for shipping companies under the INSA Jaya.

“By 2026, approximately 473 shipping companies are expected to be registered with INSA Jaya. Of these, around 101 remain actively operating at the port. Therefore, we are committed to strengthening collaboration and the organization to support the creation of a more conducive shipping business climate,” Andi said.

He added that the new management combines the experience of senior members with the energy of a younger generation that shares the same commitment to advancing the organization.

“We are committed to ensuring that INSA Jaya plays a more active role in representing the interests of shipping companies while supporting the advancement of Indonesia’s maritime sector,” he said.

Andi also expressed appreciation to the previous board for its dedication and achievements. He paid tribute to the late Captain Alimudin for his contributions to the organization and encouraged the newly inaugurated management to continue that spirit of service in advancing the INSA Jaya Branch and supporting Indonesia’s maritime development.

Mohamad Erwin Y. Zubir was appointed secretary of the INSA Jaya  and will oversee organizational coordination, implementation of work programs, cross-sector communication, and cooperation with regulators and other stakeholders.

He will also serve as head of the INSA Jaya Tariff Team, which is tasked with preparing strategic studies and policy recommendations on port and shipping service tariffs as part of the organization’s advocacy for its members.

The organization said the combination of experienced senior leaders and younger professionals is expected to strengthen member services, improve the competitiveness of Indonesia’s shipping companies, and contribute to the development of the national maritime industry.
