Re-Elected as ALFI Jakarta Chairperson, Adil Karim to Take focus on Six Key Priorities

Adil Karim has been re-elected as the General Chairperson of the ALFI Jakarta Regional Management Board (DPW) for the 2024-2029 period. The announcement came during the VI ALFI Jakarta Regional Conference (Muswil), which took place on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in Jakarta. His re-election was unanimously confirmed by the conference participants.

This marks Adil Karim’s second term as the chairperson, as he successfully led the association from 2019 to 2024. The support for his continued leadership reflects his strong track record and the trust placed in him to guide the organization for the next five years.

The Muswil saw a high level of participation, with 252 eligible voters present, fulfilling the quorum requirement for the conference. A total of 308 participants had registered to attend the event, further underscoring the engagement of the community.

During the first plenary session, the draft rules of procedure for the VI ALFI Jakarta Regional Conference were ratified. The session also elected five session leaders: Heri Sutanto (Chairman), along with Anwar Sata, Tata Wahyudin, Fauzan Musa, and Yusril Yusuf as members.

At the second plenary session, the Accountability Report (LPJ) of the ALFI Jakarta DPW Management for the 2019-2024 term was presented by Adil Karim. The report received unanimous approval from the Muswil participants, who expressed their satisfaction with the leadership and performance of the outgoing management.

Following the approval of the LPJ, the ALFI Jakarta Management for the 2019-2024 term was officially declared demissioned. The next steps involved the formation of a committee and the continuation of discussions to outline future goals for the association.

With Adil Karim’s leadership secured for another term, ALFI Jakarta looks forward to another period of progress and collaboration in the logistics and freight forwarding sector.

Key Priorities in Second Term

Adil outlined at least six key priorities for logistics sector development in Jakarta. He said this will his special concern in his second term to lead ALFI.

The key priorities include: Building a digital logistics ecosystem within Jakarta; Enhancing infrastructure efficiency, including ports, roads, and airports, to streamline the flow of goods, documents, and fleets; Improving integrated electronic information and communication systems for all logistics stakeholders; Raising the competency of human resources to meet both national and international standards; Strengthening the capabilities of logistics service providers; and Promoting the implementation of supply chain management practices.

Adil expressed hope that the conference would generate actionable proposals that could influence policies designed to improve the logistics ecosystem in Jakarta, ultimately making it more effective, efficient, and productive.
