The government is encouraging stevedoring companies to align with its new vision for the transportation, logistics, and maritime sectors. To facilitate this, the stevedoring company association (APBMI) is fostering synergy between stevedoring companies and various stakeholders, including government entities, port authorities, port operators, and other businesses.
Director General of Sea Transportation, Capt. Antoni Arif Priadi conveyed by the message during the opening of the 2024 APBMI National Meeting (Rakernas) at the Haris Hotel in Denpasar, Bali, on Friday, November 1, 2024.

Antoni emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening connectivity through transportation sector development to realize President Prabowo Subianto’s vision and mission.
“The theme of this Rakernas, ‘United We Strong, Together We Grow,’ resonates with the new government’s spirit of fostering synergy to achieve its vision,” Antoni stated in his remark speech.
He assured attendees that the Ministry of Transportation is prepared to support the President’s transportation vision and mission. The Ministry has developed a work plan aligned with the Vision of Golden Indonesia 2045, as well as the President’s eight missions and the Ministry’s objectives.

“To achieve this, we invite all stevedoring companies to enhance connectivity and integration within the transportation sector,” Antoni urged. He also called on APBMI to support governance improvements and human resource development in the sector, noting, “The issue of the environment is equally important.”
In response to the government’s expectations, Capt. Suwondo, Chairman of the 2024 Rakernas Organizing Committee, expressed hope that all participants would recognize the significance of the Director General’s message and its implications for stevedoring activities.
“Hopefully, all participants can understand and implement the message conveyed,” Suwondo said. He noted that the 2024 Rakernas attracted 455 participants from a total of 2,010 stevedoring companies across Indonesia, highlighting the sector’s promising future.

Suwondo also acknowledged Pelindo Managing Director Putut Sri Muljanto’s presence at the event, stating, “Pelindo’s support is invaluable to us.”
In addition to Pelindo as the key operator of Indonesia’s ports, several associations participated as honorary guests at the Rakernas. These include the Indonesia Importers’ Association (GINSI), the Indonesia Shipping Agencies Association (ISAA), the Indonesia Container Depo Association (ASDEKI), APTESINDO, and the Indonesia Trucking Companies’ Association (APTRINDO), along with other related organizations.
For Common Prosperity
APBMI Chairman Juswandi Kristanto praised the collaboration with Pelindo as a key port operator, which has fostered positive partnerships thus far. “Today, we will once again sign an MoU to strengthen our synergy and cooperation with Pelindo. We appreciate this Rakernas theme, ‘United We Strong, Together We Grow.’ I would like to add one more point: Together We Must Strive for Our Common Prosperity,” Juswandi concluded.
