Terminal Teluk Lamong Officially Takes over TPK Nilam

PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP) has officially handed over the operation and maintenance of Terminal Peti Kemas (TPK) Nilam to PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL). This step remains a manifestation of SPTP strategic plan to operation excellent.

Beginning May 1, TTL would officially start to operate and maintain the terminal.

TPK Nilam is a container terminal at Tanjung Perak Port Surabaya. Having quay of 320×20 meter and berth depth of -9 MLWS, TPK Nilam remains one of the choices of shipping lines at East Java.

TTL Corporate Secretary Syaiful Anam explained that this handover of operations was the company’s strategic plan to continue corporate actions after Pelindo merger. Syaiful Anam also explained that TTL is a champion who would gradually receive several container terminals under SPTP management to be handed over to operate.

“TPK Nilam is the first phase. Other terminals will soon be handed over to TTL,” Syaiful Anam explained.

The company guarantees that the handover of will not interrupt the operation. TPK Nilam operations will run as usual. TTL has also conducted outreach to all stakeholders regarding the handover of this operation, so that it can run smoothly.

After taking over TPK Nilam, TTL will not act as terminal operator, but further to be a consolidator and business operator. This step was taken as part of increasing the TTL portfolio. The operation of TPK Nilam by TTL is expected to further increase operational and service excellence for the overall efficiency of national logistics costs.

TTL, will continue to do operation standardization and systemization as its parent company SPTP has done “Container terminal operation and service standards are the company’s priority. We guarantee that the services provided at both TTL and TPK Nilam have the same standards,” explained Syaiful Anam.

Teluk Lamong Terminal is optimistic that this handover of operations will be able to increase terminal productivity, provide faster ship services and hopefully facilitate communication and coordination in order to provide satisfactory services for service users.
