The activity was officially opened by Head of KSOP Tanjung Perak Agustinus Maun and top executives of involved parties, including TTL President Director David Pandapotan Sirait and Director of Politeknik Pelayaran Surabaya (Poltekpel) Moejiono.
On his remark speech for the training opening, Agustinus Maun expressed his appreciation, saying: “The performance of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong for current operations is very good and exceeds our standards, which are above 23 boxes/hour for domestic and 25 boxes/hour for international. This shows that by increasing competence, we can achieve better results.”
Green & Smart Port Needs Qualified HR
David also said that the green and smart port concept that has been initiated by Terminal Teluk Lamong can work efficiently if it is supported by qualified human resources, including lasher workers.
“Our future challenge, from this year to the next three years, is to focus on people, the human resources. The human resources are the most important assets. Therefore, we must improve their competence and give them the opportunity to innovate,” said David.
He emphasized that this training is very important to improve the ability and skills of lashers so that they can adapt to technological developments and the increasingly complex demands of the port industry.
Director of Politeknik Pelayaran Surabaya (Poltekpel) Moejiono, meanwhile, said that, in addition to improving skills, this training was also meant to improve awareness on work safety.

“Thank you for the trust and opportunity given to us to jointly build and improve the competence of human resources in this case, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong’s lashers. We all hope that in preparing human resources, in addition to the competence to produce effective and efficient work, the most important thing is safety at work,” said Moejiono.
As part of an ongoing program in developing human resources, PT Terminal Teluk Lamong will collaborate with educational and training institutions, including the Surabaya Shipping Polytechnic to organize various relevant training programs.
This collaboration is expected to create a workforce that is not only skilled, but also has a deep understanding of the development of the port and logistics industry.
