Terminal Teluk Lamong’s HSSE Transformation for Safety Improvement and Environment Protection

Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) commits to continue improving aspect of safety, security, heath, and environment protection in its terminal operation through HSSE (health, safety, security and environment) transformation program. Among other programs for the HSSE transformation, TTL has just promoted it through the implementation of safety induction, terminal sterilization and minimum requirements for safety. TTL also held several outreach activities related to the HSSE transformation process.

This HSSE transformation is carried out jointly by all companies under the PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas Subholding in order to prevent work accidents and create a safe work environment to support productivity and for company performance achievement.

TTL has proven that commitment and consistency in implementing HSSE can create a safe work environment. Based on data, safe working hours or no lost time injury (NLTI) at TTL has now reached 18,282,613 hours. Such good achievement supported TTL receiving a zero- accident award at the national level in 2023.

Terminal Teluk Lamong President Director David Pandapotan Sirait invites all employees and work partners to carry out HSSE transformation in order to create high performance and zero accidents.

“TTL has a high commitment to this HSSE transformation program, where currently we have formed a task force team that will take this program seriously,” said David.

The initial step in HSSE transformation was carried out by increasing employee awareness and behaviour through sharing sessions and focus group discussions (FGD) which started in December 2023 and ended in March 2024. As many as 1156 participants in total took part, consisting of employees and work partners who are active in TTL environment. Apart from this, safety induction is also carried out so that all people who are active in the terminal area have good HSSE knowledge.

Furthermore, TTL also sterilized the terminal by recording all people and vehicles carrying out activities in the terminal area, as well as minimizing the number of people and non-operational vehicles, especially those who had no interest in entering the terminal area. Implementation of minimum HSSE standards/requirements for terminal facilities and equipment as well as standardization of procedures is also part of the HSSE transformation

“Implementation of the HSSE Transformation elements is very important in forming a culture of occupational safety and health. In the future, TTL will continue to develop this program through HSSE digitalization to increase TTL’s competitiveness in the global class,” concluded David.
