Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association Chapter North Sumatera (ALFI/ILFA Sumut) marked its 36th anniversary on Friday, underscoring the importance of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in advancing Indonesia’s logistics sector.
The commemoration, held at ALFI/ILFA’s North Sumatra Secretariat in Medan, was themed “36 Years of Driving National Logistics: Synergy, Innovation, Sustainability.” The event featured a series of activities, beginning with a charitable donation to local orphans, followed by a traditional tumpeng (rice cone) cutting ceremony, speeches from key stakeholders, and a communal meal.
Representatives from a broad cross-section of the logistics ecosystem attended, including officials from Belawan Main Port’s operations, the North Sumatra Provincial Transportation Agency, PT Pelindo Regional 1, PT Pelindo Belawan Branch, PT Belawan New Container Terminal (BNCT), Customs and Excise, and major logistics companies such as PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (PMT) and PT Prima Indonesia Logistik (PIL).
The event also attracted participation from influential industry associations such as INSA, GPEI, GINSI, APBMI, APINDO, ASDEKI, GAPKINDO, ANGSUSPEL, ORGANDA, and ISAA, alongside ALFI/ILFA North Sumatra members.
H. Surianto, SH, MH, Chairman of ALFI/ILFA North Sumatra, highlighted the association’s ongoing commitment to enhancing efficiency and smooth operations at Belawan Port, Indonesia’s busiest gateway in the region.
“As ALFI/ILFA enters its 36th year, we are determined to deepen our role in supporting national logistics, particularly in driving operational excellence at Belawan Port,” Surianto said.
Echoing this commitment, Didi Supriyadi, representing the Head of Belawan KSOP Operations, praised ALFI/ILFA as a vital strategic partner in maintaining seamless goods movement.
“ALFI/ILFA plays an essential role for logistics service users, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operations at Belawan Port,” said Didi.
Yarham Harid of Pelindo also emphasized the importance of cooperation between port operators and logistics stakeholders.
“Our ongoing coordination with ALFI/ILFA North Sumatra exemplifies the theme of this year’s celebration, synergy, innovation, and sustainability, which is key to meeting the challenges of modern logistics,” Yarham said.
The anniversary provided a moment of reflection for ALFI/ILFA North Sumatra as it prepares to strengthen its members’ capabilities amid a rapidly evolving logistics landscape.
