PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM), a subholding of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) specializing in marine, equipment, and port services, has officially completed the transfer of shares of PT Multi Terminal Indonesia (MTI) PT Intan Sejahtera Utama (ISMA) to SPJM. This transfer is a follow up the decision that as of December 31, 2024, ISMA has been becoming the subsidiary of SPJM.
This share transfer marks a significant step in SPJM’s ongoing business purification process, which began in 2023. ISMA, a company specializing in ship crewing, was previously a subsidiary of MTI, which is part of the Pelindo Group’s Logistics & Hinterland Development business.
Explaining this, Tubagus Patrick, Senior Vice President of SPJM Corporate Secretary, said that this business purification is aimed at streamlining business operations and aligning the business processes of each entity with its core operations.
“Given that ISMA’s primary focus is crewing, which aligns closely with SPJM’s marine business, management conducted an in-depth study and determined that transferring ISMA to the SPJM Group would optimize its business performance. This integration will also help ISMA mature and expand its market presence,” said Patrik.
ISMA, which holds SIUPPAK Number 232.35 of 2022, operates as a manning agency, specializing in the recruitment and placement of ship crews. Its vision is to become a leading agency in the maritime industry by providing high-quality solutions for crew recruitment.
With this official transfer, SPJM now owns 99.5% of ISMA’s shares, while 0.5% remains under the ownership of PT Equiport Inti Indonesia.
“SPJM’s marine portfolio includes pilotage, towing, and outsourcing services for pilot and tugboat crews. By integrating ISMA into the SPJM Group, we now offer a comprehensive, end-to-end marine service portfolio, with ISMA managing the ship crewing aspect.”
“This integration will also promote standardization across business processes, ensuring consistent and standardized crewing services across the Pelindo Group’s operational areas,” added Patrick.
