GINSI Hopes JICT’s TOS Maintenance Will Not Disrupt Port Operations

The Indonesian Importers’ Association (GINSI) said it hopes scheduled maintenance on the terminal operating system (TOS) at PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) will not disrupt activities at the country’s busiest port or hinder the import process.

JICT will suspend a series of services on Sunday to conduct server maintenance and upgrade network security for its TOS, according to a company circular. The terminal will temporarily halt online transactions and customer service from 6:00 p.m. WIB on Nov. 16, followed by gate-in services at 9:00 p.m. Gate-out, loading, and unloading operations will pause at 11:00 p.m.

Services are expected to resume at 2:00 a.m. WIB on Monday, Nov. 17.

“The server maintenance and network security upgrades are intended to improve operational performance at the terminal,” the circular said. It was signed by Deputy President Director Budi Cahyono on Nov. 7 and circulated to port stakeholders at Tanjung Priok.

Those notified included the Jakarta chapters of GINSI, the Indonesian Export Companies Association (GPEI), and the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI), as well as shipping, trucking, depot, and cargo-handling associations such as INSA Jaya, Angsuspel, Aptrindo, Logindo Club, Asdeki, and Aptesindo.

Erwin Taufan, deputy chairman of GINSI, urged JICT to keep to the announced timeline to avoid delays in cargo movement.

“We hope the server maintenance and TOS upgrade can run smoothly as planned so the flow of goods and logistics at the port remains uninterrupted,” Taufan said on Friday.
