IPCM, Nusantara Regas Extend Cooperation to Support Power Supply

Pilotage and towage service provider PT Jasa Armada Indonesia Tbk (IPCM), a group of state-owned port operator Pelindo, has extended its cooperation with PT Nusantara Regas to provide marine services at the West Java Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), a key facility supplying natural gas for electricity generation in Jakarta and West Java.

Nusantara Regas operates the FSRU, which supplies around 60% of electricity demand for state utility PLN in the two regions, making the terminal a critical part of Indonesia’s power infrastructure.

Under the agreement, IPCM will continue to provide pilotage and tugboat services for liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers calling at the dedicated terminal, supporting the safe and timely unloading of LNG required for regasification.

The cooperation, in place since 2018, is aimed at maintaining the reliability of LNG distribution and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply, the companies said.

“This extension reflects PT Nusantara Regas’ trust in the consistent quality of our ship services over the past several years,” IPCM President Director Shanti Puruhita said.

“We remain committed to delivering reliable, safety-focused and professional marine services to support operations at the FSRU terminal.”

Nusantara Regas President Director Moh. Iskandar Mirza said the partnership had contributed positively to the safe and smooth operation of marine activities at the terminal.

“We hope this continued collaboration will further strengthen our synergy in ensuring the availability of a competitive and sustainable national electricity supply,” Mirza said.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from both companies, including directors overseeing operations, finance and risk management.
