This partnership aims to foster a mutually beneficial relationship by leveraging and optimizing the resources and capabilities of both parties. The primary focus is on maximizing opportunities in port service operations – particularly ship pilotage and towage—in the Ship-to-Ship (STS) area of Ambang Luar Sungai Musi, Palembang, South Sumatra.

As domestic demand and coal exports from the Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel) region continue to rise, resulting in increased maritime traffic, this collaboration is expected to provide effective solutions to operational challenges and accelerate the growth of port services in the area.

“The potential for coal transportation in the Ambang Luar Sungai Musi area is significant,” said IPCM President Director Shanti Puruhita. “Abundant coal reserves in this region contribute greatly to the increasing demand for transportation via Ship-to-Ship transfers.”

She also emphasized that the synergy between fellow Port Business Entities is a positive move amid the evolving dynamics of the port services sector. The collaboration is expected to foster a more competitive and harmonious business climate while promoting sustainable growth in the national logistics and port industry.
