Liana Trisnawati has officially been elected the Chairperson of the Indonesian Port Business Association (ABUPI) for the 2025-2030 following an election at the 2nd ABUPI National Conference (Munas) on February 20, 2025. The event was marked by high enthusiasm and fierce competition.
Liana emerged victorious, securing 65 out of 99 votes, defeating rivals Mindo Sitorus, who received 30 votes, and Ayi Priyana, who garnered only 3 votes. The vote-counting process was filled with excitement, especially when Ayi Priyana received a vote, triggering cheers and loud shouts of “Yeeee!” from the Munas participants.
Once the results were announced, Liana was invited to the stage. In her victory speech, she graciously invited her competitors, Mindo and Ayi, to join her on stage and pledged to work together to advance ABUPI. She assured the audience that she would carry out her duties with full responsibility and dedication, vowing to lead the organization in close collaboration with all members.
In her post-election speech, Liana outlined her key priorities. The first step, she said, would be to meet with the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) to discuss upcoming ABUPI initiatives. Additionally, she stressed the importance of establishing a strong, competent management team to effectively execute ABUPI’s programs.
Liana expressed her appreciation for the proposals put forward by all three candidates for the role of general chairman, noting that their ideas complemented each other and would add value to ABUPI. “We share the same vision and mission to advance ABUPI. The proposed programs are excellent and will work together to help us achieve our collective goals,” she stated.
Beyond strengthening ABUPI internally, Liana plans to engage with the Indonesian House of Representatives in the near future. She believes fostering good communication between ABUPI and lawmakers is essential for creating policies that support the development of Indonesia’s port sector.
A major focus of Liana’s tenure will be the digitalization of Indonesia’s ports. She intends to prioritize the development of a digital system to improve communication and coordination among ABUPI members, supporting the modernization and integration of the country’s port industry.
Tie up Partnership, Build Port Business Competitiveness
Liana is also committed to strengthening relationships among ABUPI members, encouraging mutual support and knowledge-sharing among port business entities. With a spirit of cooperation and synergy, she believes ABUPI can evolve into a more robust and competitive organization, ready to tackle the increasingly complex challenges facing the port industry.
Liana’s election has sparked great optimism among ABUPI members, who look forward to a future of innovation and collaboration that will drive the progress of Indonesia’s port sector on both national and international fronts.
