PT Multi Terminal Indonesia (MTI), a subsidiary of Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), posted a strong performance in the first half (H1) of 2025, fueled by impressive gains in its freight forwarding services and container consolidation operations.
The company’s results exceeded targets, with freight forwarding services growing 7.4% beyond expectations, while its Container Consolidation and Distribution Center (CCDC) services outpaced the target by 1.5%.
Sucahyo, MTI’s Corporate Secretary, attributed the growth to heightened operational activity in key regions, particularly Semarang, Surabaya, and Ambon.
“In Semarang, we’ve seen significant growth in handling logistics for industries such as asphalt, plastic pellets, and battery raw materials, key inputs for the burgeoning electric vehicle market,” Cahyo explained.
MTI’s operations in Semarang are also critical to the supply chain for the electric vehicle industry, as the company facilitates logistics for battery raw materials from Tanjung Emas Port to the industrial zones in Kendal. This strategic expansion highlights MTI’s growing role in Indonesia’s green energy sector.
The positive performance was not confined to Semarang. In addition to strong container terminal activity in Surabaya and Ambon, MTI’s footprint has expanded into Region 2, including at Mempawah’s Kijing Port in Pontianak, where the company now handles logistics for fertilizer, raw materials, and alumina.
“Region 1, centered in Jakarta, also saw a 6.7% year-on-year growth, driven by enhanced services at the former Perca CCDC and improvements at the Integrated Container Inspection Center (ICIC) in the Common Area,” Cahyo said.
Overall, all three of MTI’s operational regions—Regional 1 (Jakarta), Regional 2 (Semarang, Surabaya, Ambon, and Pontianak), and Regional 3—showed robust performance in the first semester of 2025, according to the company. Cahyo expressed confidence that the company’s efforts to standardize operations, improve service quality, and upgrade business infrastructure would sustain this upward trend throughout the year.
“We are optimistic that MTI’s performance will align with the targets set by our shareholders,” Cahyo said.
“As we continue to refine our operations and strengthen our logistics network, we are committed to becoming the logistics solutions provider of choice for our customers,” he said.
