The United Indonesian Port Workers Union (SPPI Bersatu), representing the dedicated employees of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo), is embarking on a new chapter driven by unity and determination.
The recent inauguration of the Central Executive Boards (DPP) of SPPI Bersatu on February 24, 2025, in Ciawi, marks a significant milestone, not only showcasing a renewed commitment to collective action but also setting the stage for the first-ever National Working Meeting (Rakernas), held from February 24-25, 2025.
At this energizing Rakernas, SPPI DPP members from across Indonesia gathered with a spirit of simplicity and efficiency, engaging in meaningful discussions aimed at addressing key issues affecting both workers and the company.
Dodi Nurdiana, General Chairman of SPPI Bersatu, emphasized the importance of the Rakernas, calling it a critical moment to address urgent concerns and develop actionable programs that benefit workers nationwide. “Our approach to managing strategic issues and formulating programs must be rooted in responsibility, striking a balance between worker welfare and the company’s long-term sustainability,” Dodi said.

As discussions progressed, Dodi also addressed the ongoing merger plans between Pelni, ASDP, and Pelindo, urging caution. “While we are closely monitoring these policy directions, we believe the merger is premature, especially as Pelindo is still working to ensure worker welfare is properly harmonized post-merger,” he remarked.
Dodi firmly reaffirmed SPPI Bersatu’s commitment to advocating for workers’ interests, stressing the union’s responsibility to hold management accountable for any policies that may violate the Collective Labor Agreement (PKB). “With the current PKB set to expire in 2025, we are preparing for discussions that will shape its future,” he added.
Secretary General Kamal Akhyar also shared his excitement about the potential of the first Rakernas to nurture the next generation of leaders within the organization. “It’s essential to empower our younger management cadre to uphold the values and objectives of SPPI Bersatu, ensuring that we not only preserve our legacy but also steer our company toward greater success,” Kamal stated.
With a strong commitment to dialogue and progress, SPPI Bersatu is poised to lead the way in fostering a cooperative spirit between workers and management, paving the path to a prosperous future.
