MTI Continues Logistics Footprint Expansion in Eastern Indonesia with Bitung Facility

PT Multi Terminal Indonesia (MTI), a logistics subsidiary of Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), has expanded its operations in Eastern Indonesia with the opening of a new 3.1-hectare logistics yard at Bitung Port, North Sulawesi, as part of its broader push to strengthen the national supply chain.

The new facility, known as Line 2, officially began operations on Monday, reinforcing MTI’s growing presence in the eastern region where it already operates at Makassar and Ambon ports.

“This marks a significant milestone in our commitment to integrated logistics services across Indonesia,” said Budi Azmi, Acting President Director of PT MTI, during the handover ceremony at the Pelindo Regional 4 Bitung office.

“We are grateful for the collaboration and support from Pelindo Regional 4 and SPSL that made this launch possible,” he said further.

The inauguration event was attended by key stakeholders, including James David Hukom, General Manager of Pelindo Regional 4 Bitung, and Martogi H. Silalahi, Vice President of Business Cooperation at SPSL.

James welcomed MTI’s entry into Bitung, expressing confidence in the company’s ability to support logistics growth in North Sulawesi. “With its experience and capabilities, MTI is well-positioned to develop Bitung Port as a strategic logistics hub,” he said.

The new yard is part of a broader restructuring and expansion strategy by Pelindo Group, aimed at optimizing its logistics subholding’s service reach and operational efficiency.

To underscore its commitment to workplace safety and operational readiness, MTI distributed personal protective equipment (PPE) to dockworkers and presented specialized vests to security personnel, in a ceremony attended by representatives from both MTI and Pelindo Regional 4 Bitung.

MTI, a key player within the Pelindo Group, said it will continue to focus on service innovation and operational enhancements to meet growing customer demand and support economic development across the archipelago.
