Pelindo Tower Emerges as Green Landmark in Indonesia’s Busiest Port

In the heart of Indonesia’s busiest port, a new symbol of sustainability and economic ambition has taken root. Pelindo Tower, the new headquarters of state port subholding PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), is redefining business space in the Tanjung Priok area, doubling as a public-access facility that aims to blend corporate transparency, community service, and eco-conscious design.

Officially certified Gold by Indonesia’s Green Building Council, Pelindo Tower incorporates environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into its operations. Sustainability measures include energy-efficient systems and environmentally friendly waste management, while governance standards are reinforced through the implementation of ISO 37001 for anti-bribery management.

“This tower is not just an office building, it’s a manifestation of our commitment to transparent, integrated governance and national logistics development,” said Dewi Fitriyani, Senior Vice President of Corporate Secretariat at SPSL.

Constructed with eco-smart building technologies, Pelindo Tower offers a wide range of facilities: from business amenities such as meeting rooms and a multifunction hall, to public-access services including a wellness center, gym, health clinic, food outlets, rooftop garden, and a mosque. A 24-hour security system ensures open but secure access for both tenants and visitors.

Strategically located in the Tanjung Priok Port, a vital maritime hub in Jakarta, the 34,158-square-metre tower is envisioned as a logistics nerve center supporting Indonesia’s supply chain and economic growth.

Occupancy performance underlines its growing appeal. By the end of the first half of 2025, leased space reached 28,294 square meters, or 82.83% of total capacity. The figure marks a 0.35% increase year-on-year and surpasses both SPSL’s internal target (102.37%) and its realization trend (101.24%).

In addition to its business footprint, Pelindo Tower is making inroads into grassroots economic development. In March 2024, the company launched the Local Pride Spot, a dedicated retail space for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The initiative has since generated IDR 1 billion ($61,000) in sales, supporting local artisans and producers of traditional textiles, ethnic jewelry, specialty foods, and daily goods.

“We want Pelindo Tower to be more than a corporate symbol, we want it to become a center for collaboration and empowerment, especially for MSMEs,” Dewi said.

The tower’s inclusive architectural design and public-oriented amenities reflect Pelindo Group’s broader transformation agenda, one that prioritizes not just infrastructure but community engagement.

Through such initiatives, SPSL aims to position Pelindo Tower as a model of how logistics infrastructure can serve both economic and societal goals, creating a new kind of urban port landmark that balances growth with sustainability.
