Top educational institutions are also participating, including the University of Indonesia (UI), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Azureus Offshore Training, and the Center for Human Resource Development in Sea Transportation (PPSDM), which oversees 14 maritime-focused civil service academies.
Driving Toward a Green Maritime Industry
Running in parallel with the exhibition, the Sea Indonesia Conference spans three days and features speakers from leading organizations across the maritime sector. Participants include representatives from Bank Mandiri, Hempel A/A, MAN Energy Solutions, Rina Digital Solutions, SHELL, Zichai Power Co. Mahardi Tunggul Wicaksono, Director of Maritime Industry, Transportation Equipment, and Defense Equipment at the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin), officially opened the event. In his remarks, he emphasized the urgency of transitioning Indonesia’s maritime, shipbuilding, and shipping sectors toward sustainability.
“As the world’s largest archipelagic nation, Indonesia has immense maritime potential. This sector must be transformed urgently to support our green industry goals,” said Wicaksono.
He also cited Ministry data showing a positive export trend, saying: “Indonesia’s maritime and shipping exports reached US$835 million in 2024, following a peak of US$1.2 billion in 2022.”
Bridging Indonesia with the Global Maritime Community
Johnson W. Sutjipto, President Director of PT Kshatriya Piningit Kamulyan and organizer of Sea Indonesia 2025, highlighted the exhibition’s role as a vital bridge between Indonesian and international maritime players.
“Sea Indonesia provides a strategic platform for stakeholders to exchange insights, build partnerships, and explore investment opportunities. It supports international collaboration while strengthening Indonesia’s maritime identity,” said Sutjipto.

He extended his appreciation to all supporters and stakeholders, underlining the exhibition’s importance for national development:
“As we target 8% economic growth over the next five years, strong inter-island and global maritime connectivity is key.”
This year’s event also commemorates the 20th anniversary of Indonesia’s cabotage principle, established under Presidential Instruction No. 5/2005—a milestone in empowering the national maritime industry and advancing Indonesia’s vision as the Global Maritime Fulcrum.
