PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) has distributed humanitarian aid worth 300 million rupiah to support victims of floods and landslides in Aceh and North Sumatra, the company said on Friday.
The assistance was channeled through the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of North Jakarta and formally handed over at a ceremony at the North Jakarta Mayor’s Office.
JICT President Director Ade Hartono said the contribution reflected the company’s solidarity with communities affected by the disasters.
“The disasters in Aceh and North Sumatra have had a significant impact on local communities. We hope this assistance can help ease their burden and support a faster recovery,” Ade said at the ceremony.
He added that JICT, as part of Indonesia’s national logistics ecosystem, remained committed to supporting emergency response efforts and humanitarian initiatives.
North Jakarta Mayor Hendra Hidayat welcomed the donation and praised the company’s continued involvement in social initiatives.
“We appreciate JICT’s commitment in demonstrating its concern for the community. This donation is very helpful in the disaster management process, and we hope this collaboration will continue to be strengthened,” Hendra said.
The North Jakarta PMI said the funds would be used to support emergency response operations, including logistics distribution, healthcare services and early recovery efforts for affected residents.
JICT received certificates of appreciation from the North Jakarta PMI and the mayor’s office in recognition of its contribution.
The company said the donation formed part of its broader corporate social responsibility programs, which cover education, environmental protection, healthcare and community empowerment initiatives.
