Pelindo Jasa Maritim Maps 2026 Expansion with Focus on Service Excellence

Executives of PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM) gathered in Makassar this week to chart an ambitious course for 2026, reaffirming plans to expand the company’s footprint while sharpening its focus on business and service excellence across Indonesia’s maritime sector.

The two-day working meeting, held on February 12–13, brought together senior management from across the SPJM Group, both in person and virtually, as the company seeks to accelerate growth in what executives described as an increasingly dynamic and competitive environment.

SPJM, a subholding of state-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), operates across the Marine, Equipment, Port Services, Dredging, and Shipyard (MEPS) sectors. The company plays a key supporting role within the broader Pelindo Group ecosystem, providing maritime and port-related services critical to Indonesia’s trade infrastructure.

Building on 2025 Momentum

Opening the meeting, SPJM President Commissioner Hermanto praised employees for meeting the company’s 2025 performance targets, describing the achievement as a result of “hard work, reliability, and intelligence” across the organization.

But he cautioned that 2026 would bring “complex dynamics” requiring sharper discipline and strategic focus.

“The Board of Commissioners reaffirms three strategic directions for 2026: strengthening and diversifying MEPS services, pursuing selective business expansion, and optimizing service excellence,” Hermanto said.

He added that expansion efforts must be supported by disciplined efficiency, strengthened risk management, enhanced human capital capabilities, and adherence to good corporate governance.

The first day of the meeting centered on evaluating 2025 performance and aligning on the 2026 Corporate Work Plan and Budget (RKAP). The Board of Directors presented strategic priorities, followed by performance reviews from business lines covering Marine, Equipment, Port Services, and subsidiary operations.

SPJM President Director Arief Prabowo said the forum was designed to encourage open dialogue on how to meet the company’s 2026 targets.

“This working meeting provides space for transparent discussion on our 2026 roadmap,” Arief said. “Our focus is on strengthening our business fundamentals so that we can deliver superior support services and achieve sustainable expansion.”

Strengthening Pelindo’s Core

On the second day, discussions shifted toward strategic issues and improvement initiatives, drawing lessons from operational challenges faced in 2025. Senior leaders explored ways to enhance competitiveness and drive operational excellence across the group.

Joining virtually, Pelindo Operations Director Putut Sri Muljanto emphasized SPJM’s strategic importance within the Pelindo Group.

“SPJM plays a vital role in supporting Pelindo’s core business, both in marine services and equipment and utilities,” Putut said. “With the experience gained in previous years, SPJM must sharpen its focus on service excellence to ensure business development that significantly impacts overall performance.”

He expressed confidence that the company could exceed last year’s results if it maintained operational discipline and customer-focused innovation.

Driving Commercial Expansion

Carrying the theme “Driving Commercial Expansion Through Business & Service Excellence,” the meeting underscored SPJM’s strategy to position service reliability and customer satisfaction as the foundation of growth.

Company executives said superior service would be central to strengthening customer loyalty, enhancing corporate reputation, and building sustainable competitive advantage in Indonesia’s maritime services sector.

As Indonesia continues to modernize its port infrastructure and maritime logistics network, SPJM’s leadership signaled that disciplined expansion — backed by operational excellence — would define its next phase of growth.
