The agreement standardizes operational reporting and administration at Palaran Container Terminal, enhancing governance, oversight and coordination while supporting logistics efficiency and economic growth regionally.
PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) and PT Pelabuhan Samudera Palaran have signed technical guidelines governing operational reporting and administrative procedures at the Palaran Container Terminal in Samarinda, a move aimed at strengthening governance and improving terminal performance.
The guidelines were signed on Tuesday by Pelindo Regional 4 Samarinda General Manager Capt. Suparman and PT Pelabuhan Samudera Palaran General Manager Andi Kurniawan during a ceremony at Makassar New Port (MNP), witnessed by representatives from both companies.
Adi Novi Wahyudi, Commercial Division Head of Pelindo Regional 4, said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to establishing more effective and efficient governance of terminal operations.
“The Palaran Container Terminal plays a strategic role in supporting logistics flows in East Kalimantan. Clear reporting standards and a common understanding are essential to ensure operational and administrative processes are carried out optimally, measurably and accountably,” Adi said.

He said the guidelines would serve as a common reference for operational processes at the terminal while strengthening coordination between Pelindo Regional 4 Samarinda and PT Pelabuhan Samudera Palaran as the terminal operator.
PT Pelabuhan Samudera Palaran President Director Harun Gemilang said the agreement provides an important foundation for orderly and sustainable terminal management.
“Strong collaboration between Pelindo and PT Pelabuhan Samudera Palaran is key to delivering reliable and competitive terminal services. These guidelines provide a common framework for operational and administrative reporting that will help improve service quality for terminal users,” Harun said.
He added that stronger governance would also support the continued growth of logistics and trade activities in East Kalimantan.
Capt. Suparman said implementation of the guidelines is expected to enhance oversight, improve the accuracy of operational data and strengthen coordination among parties involved in terminal management.
“These guidelines not only regulate reporting procedures but also serve as an important control instrument to ensure operational and administrative activities are conducted in accordance with good governance principles, ultimately supporting improved terminal performance and customer service,” he said.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen corporate governance and ensure operational and administrative reporting processes at the Palaran Container Terminal are more integrated, transparent and accountable.
Pelindo said the strengthened governance framework supports its commitment to professional and competitive port management while helping facilitate smoother logistics distribution and regional economic growth.
